There’s something to be said for the simplicity of a solid notebook. No battery to run down and a permanence that only something tactile can deliver.
If you’re in a meeting, sure you can take notes on your phone, tablet or laptop. But we’ve found that it’s distracting for everyone involved. Writing is almost second nature and a blank page doesn’t present the same distractions as an electronic device. Use a pen. Use a pencil. Use whatever suits you that day.
Over at Registered Creative, we’ve been using these record notebooks for more than a year. They hold up well to daily use and abuse. In fact, it’s the sort of thing that gets better the more you use it. Not just because of the notes and thoughts you’ve put into it, but the record book itself starts to tell it’s own story.
- The page you dog-eared to come back to later.
- The page you filled with purple ink with the pen you borrowed.
- The coffee on the back cover when the cat jumped on your desk.
